Stripping paint off any surface can be a real chore – it’s time consuming and messy.

But there is an easy way – using Kwik Strip by Selleys. Instead of the painful process of sanding this paint stripper will get the job done fast with a minimum of fuss and a lot less elbow grease. An extra bonus with this product is that it is suitable for interior and exterior use, but don’t forget to wear rubber gloves and safety glasses, and make sure there is some ventilation too.

When applying the stripper paint it on thickly and quickly, then sit back and watch it do its thing. It should only take 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the type of paint and its age and it will work on any surface – wood, metal, cement and even glass!

Back to the job at hand, when the old paint has bubbled use a plastic scraper to remove the paint taking care not to dig into the surface. For those hard to reach places use a scrubbing brush or a scourer. One application will penetrate multiple layers of paint, but for really stubborn areas just reapply the stripper and go through the process again.

Then it’s just a matter of washing off all traces of the paint stripper. Sugar soap is great for that, then finally use sandpaper to prepare for painting, staining or polishing.
