Do your energy bills keep going up or is your home at a comfortable temperature?
Maybe your house is too warm in summer or too cold in winter? Then it's time to
look at insulation. An efficiently insulated home can save up to 60% of your
heating and cooling bills meaning you will have a payback between 3-5 years. You
continue to save your money year in, year out after that. But more importantly,
you are doing your bit to save energy and resources for our future generations.
If you thought insulating your home was difficult, then you'll be pleasantly
surprised.
As with all successful projects, planning is the key so it is essential to plan
your insulation project before ordering your batts. Pink Batts are available in
various R values. The higher the R value the better the thermal performance.
Insulation batts are available in two widths 580 or 430mm. This caters for most
joist widths in your ceiling. To estimate how many packs you will need, you must
measure your total ceiling area. This will give you the approximate number of
square metres you have to cover. Be a little generous to make sure you have
enough to cover the man hole etc.
