The first thing to consider is what kind of finish you'd like for your deck by
selecting an oil, stain or paint.
If you'd prefer a stained finish, you can't go past Cabots Decking stain.
Decking stain is ideal for pine decks that have lost their original colour,
restoring the timber to its former glory. Staining is hardwearing penetrating,
weatherproof option that's suitable for all types of timber. Cabots Decking
stain is available in a choice of nine great colours, which dry, to a semi
transparent matt finish.
Decking paint is premium oil enriched acrylic paint developed specifically for
use on timber, providing superior protection against staining, fungi and algae.
Its formulation provides preservation and additional protection and durability
for all exterior situations. It can be applied directly to new or previously
painted timber, without the need for a primer, and is suitable for timber that
will be walked on. Cabots Timber colour has an opaque low sheen appearance and
is available in a range of 60 great colours.
Today Luke is getting the deck ready for staining which will be on next weeks
show. We used Cabots Deck Clean to clean the deck. You will need a bucket for
mixing, a stiff scrubbing brush or a broom.
Dilute to a ratio of 1 part Deck Clean to 4 parts water. Scrub down the deck,
leave it for 20 minutes then wash down with water.
